when joe asher of william hill said that bettors were not 86'd for winning,
but for other reasons; he's totally full of it and knows it.
as it is stated, it's inefficient and inconceivable that a modern
and large bookmaking operation can't find a way to effectively use
state of the art risk management techniques to benefit from
wise guys action. of course this takes talent, effort, commitment, and
time to accomplish this. this is NOT part of WH's mission statement
nor mindset. part of their purge was from winning players
beating them on live betting and props where it's difficult for
WH to hedge and/or protect themselves. in those cases they
need to improve their marketmakers, algorithms, and probably
severely limit the sharps. the problem is WH's greed. they
want the squares to be able to bet and lose large, but they
don't want any sharps affecting their bottom line even if
the sharps might improve that bottom line or mitigate risk.
it's a very myopic and simplistic way of bookmaking and
totally opposite the way pinnacle, CRIS (or whatever they call
themselves), grande, and old school bookmakers operate.
it really is insulting to ALL bettors that they operate this way.
